Exhibited for the first time in Rome in the vast anthological exhibition of 1966, when the related catalog suggested a comparison with the contemporary plaster of the Archangel, in its two variants, and the bust of the Archangel.

These are some of the most impressive sculptures among those made by Marini in the so-called Gothic season, that is, during the years of his exile in Canton Ticino: human figures macerated in pain, where he exaggerates in plastic terms that expressionistic tension that pervades his coeval and preponderant graphic work.

In the Miracolo Jesi, Marini takes up the ancient structure of the bust-reliquary depicting St. Bernardine of Siena flaunting the Christological monogram.
