The work, a fragment of a Majesty, with the upper part outlined, comes from the Roman antiques market.
In the Vitali collection it was attributed to the Master of Camerino but, on the basis of comparison with the Crucifix in Spoleto cathedral (signed and dated 1187), it was traced to Sozio’s work and dated around 1200. Rocca crystals were originally found in the nimbus casings.
