Renaissance Dreams – Capitolo I: Pittura
From December 8, 2024 until the end of February 2025
From December 8, 2024 until the end of February 2025, Palazzo Citterio hosts Renaissance Dreams – Chapter I: Painting, part of the immersive exhibition created especially for MEET Digital Culture Center by Refik Anadol, one of the world’s most celebrated media artists. MEET’s permanent work, which arrived in the Palazzo Citterio ledwall thanks to a collaboration between MEET Digital Culture Center and the National Museum of Digital Art (MNAD), is a hypnotic journey between art, technology and history.
Renaissance Dreams is an audiovisual installation that merges the tradition of the Italian Renaissance with the infinite possibilities of artificial intelligence. A dataset composed of images and texts created between 1300 and 1600 has been reprocessed through advanced GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) algorithms. The result is a unique experience: images, colors and sounds intertwine to offer the viewer a digital dream in four chapters – Painting, Sculpture, Literature and Architecture.

This extraordinary installation, created in 2020 for MEET where it has been a permanent fixture ever since, is considered the “Sistine Chapel” of digital art. At Palazzo Citterio, the public will be able to experience a part of this immersive masterpiece, usable in the ledwall on the ground floor. This cultural operation is part of the Grande Brera inauguration program, projecting Milan to the center of global digital art and culture.
